Would I be with more FORSCOM units or INSCOM? I have heard 35L’s that are deployed to FORSCOM units are usually do mundane tasks.

Take this from someone who was in the regiment, you cannot find your answer on google for a reason and it will stay that way. The ins and outs of the 160th are not to be put on public forums. If this is a dream of yours, I’d take the advice given earlier and go for it. The regiment was the best part of my Army career thus far and afforded me more opportunities than I could have imagined.
Good luck.

How long would I need to be in before I could send in a packet for 160th?

When I submitted my packet I was at the mercy of a time on station requirement. That requirement does change and will all depend on the timing. I had to be at my first duty station for 18 months before I was allowed to leave. However, things change often. If you truly want to do it, the wait is worth it. Elston Harris

Good news! You won't be in FORSCOM or INSCOM with the SOAR! The SOAR is a member of ARSOAC which falls under USASOC. As a 35L you'll be handling typical Battalion and Regiment level Counter Intel duties, just like many other units. However, being under USASOC, it is much more of a "grown up" unit and you are expected to work and work well.
It is also something you won't be able to enlist for. You'll need to enter the Army and go wherever they send you, THEN apply to the SOAR, THEN pass Enlisted Combat Skills (Green Platoon), and then you can finally be a Nightstalker.

The Night Stalkers is an elite group. You should be honored to be in that unit.
