Moving
I am beginning a new chapter in my personal life and I was really excited to sign the lease on a beautiful new home yesterday. I have a lot to do to get it ready, and (I just found out) I have more than enough time to clear the house I am in now. I have however, never moved my own stuff before as the Army has always PCSd me. I would appreciate any advice from you more seasoned movers! What do you do to make your moves easier?

Do a detailed review of what you do and do not need. Haven't used it in a year? Probably don't need it. Get to selling and donating. Simplify the life and the move.

Hi Jessica,
First Congratulations on your new home. I was also use to have Uncle Sam move me, the best recommendation I can give you is, gather some family or friends to help you with your move. If that is not possible and if you can afford to hire a moving company I would do that.

Agreed, but if you get the family and friends....make sure the beer and pizza (or whatever) happens when all is done. This is your property, not theirs, so it will save on the bumps, dings, or other breakage to your stuff.
