BOLC is a TDY length course. You're not authorized to bring your dependents with you on TDY.

Yes there is. If you look into the Joint Travel Regulations, 020303. Lodging, you can get a place for long term lodging but it has to be approved by our authorizing official. So this might be your AO in your unit. I am at MCCC and instead of getting a room on base I am living in a fully furnished 2 bedroom apartment while I am on TDY. TDY is not something that you should being trying to bring your family too technically. But if you were to procure a fully furnished apartment in Columbus the gov would be paying less than a hotel plus it is a much better experience

Also, your welcome letter would have to justify it. If your welcome letter says you have to use Gov lodging then you can't leave off post on the gov's dollar.

1LT (Join to see) …. you'll likely just going to have to be billeted in Army Lodging, unless you have some type of a travel order authorizing family members to accompany you. When I was in my Officer Basic Course, I was not married but signed up & received the available family lodging building (by calling the lodging office directly) on Ft. Sill, OK. You'll have to inquire if this is available. It's probably just on a first-come first-serve basis via the lodging manager.
