“The Army will approve requests for accommodation of religious practices, unless accommodation will adversely affect military necessity, including unit readiness, individual readiness, and health and/or safety for soldiers and units,” states All Army Activities message No. 002/2019.Dec 19, 2019"

"In accordance with Section 533(a)(1) of Public Law 112-239, as amended, the DoD
Components will accommodate individual expressions of sincerely held beliefs (conscience,
moral principles, or religious beliefs) which do not have an adverse impact on military readiness,
unit cohesion, good order and discipline, or health and safety. A Service member’s expression of
such beliefs may not, in so far as practicable, be used as the basis of any adverse personnel
action, discrimination, or denial of promotion, schooling, training, or assignment. "

They will allow you to practice your religion as much as possible. But there may be times you don't get to pray during training.

You're free to search more yourself to find further regulation or policy.

um, yeah.... it's basic training, I seriously doubt if you are going to have the time to break out your prayer mat several times a day.

SPC Tim Neely - not to be an ass but a simple question...do your prayers not count unless you are on your mat? IOW, can't you just pray without the mat?

It's not that they won't count, it's more that it would be preferable to NOT go face first on to whatever we may have tracked into the barracks lol

SPC Tim Neely - could you not do it on your bunk? just trying to find a work around to avoid calling extra attention to yourself.

There will definitely be extra attention anyway lol the salah goes from standing, to bowing, to kneeling, to a full prostration and back. No way to hide all of that
