What to expect from vision consult
I went to meps Monday and I was disqualified for not being correctable to 20/40 in my left eye. My right eye corrects to 20/20 with glasses. My left eye has low vision (20/80 best corrected) what can I expect at the consult I'm going to next Wednesday? Do I have a chance? Thanks

I got a wavier for myopia. It's possible but it comes down to the doctors at your MEPS, the eye specialist, and the kind of pull your recruiter has. I hope you get it my friend, I know your struggle cause I had a similar case. If you're a praying man, say some prayers for a favorable outcome

Not much to tell you. You’ll see the specialist. They will give an opinion and send it to MEPS. You will go back to MEPS. The MEPS doctor will review what the specialist recommended. If they say you are a go then they put in for a waiver. Waiver goes to waiver folks. You wait and see if waiver is approved.

No one can answer that question. Eyes are tricky things and there are many variables that will determine whether your left eye can be corrected to a standard that is minimally acceptable for the military. I wish you luck but do not get your hopes up.
