I initially commissioned around May of 2019 but had a hip injury and wasn't able to attend my initial BOLC dates then Covid happened. When I reached out to schedule new dates they told me June 2022 which is after the 3-year required time to go. I'd have to resign my commission at that point. Could I switch to another BOLC or change to the Airforce? I'd like to get this over with.

In the National Guard, all things are possible.
Yes you can switch branches, specifically if your BOLC isn't locked in and there is a slot available for another branch. You just need to transfer to that slot. This sounds like a situation your chain of command would support a transfer to get you trained sooner.

Yes, you can switch Branches in the Army National Guard. These things are controlled by your State Headquarters, call them up and ask for Officer Accessions and see what they can offer. Also remember that everything is waiverable if the right person wants to waiver it. If you liked your first Branch and want to keep it, I would talk to them about a waiver for the 3 years. Downside to that is that you can't promote until you are Fully Qualified, which means you have to have a Basic Course,

Even if you like MI I recommend trying to get BOLC now, and change your branch again in a few years.
