Do you know the history of Memorial Day?

A nice little recap of the history of a truly humbling holiday. I remember my father would tell me every year that it is a day none of us could ever own, as it will only and always belong to our dead. I could celebrate it however I wanted to but he always did it the same, a beer in one hand and a notebook in the other. A powerful image I can recall clearly to this day.
