In 1994 we signed into agreement with Ukraine in order to protect their political independence and their territorial integrity. This was part of a deal for Ukraine to give up its nuclear arsenal (which was the 3rd largest in the world). What is the minimum appropriate actions we should take in order to uphold our promise to that nation and to establish precedence that our "Nation's Handshake" is worth something while dealing with Russia's obvious invasion of those terms?

The ousted Ukranian president asked for Russian assistance, so... that's part of the tough equation.
So many things change in 20 years. The people who made the agreement are long gone. A nations agreements should be for the term of the people in agreement.
Our promise was upheld. In this scenario, we don't need to take any action.

I agree with the first part. The elected president asked for help. I do not agree that treaties or agreements should only last a term of the people who are there for it. If that were the case, noone would ever sign a treaty because it is meaningless. Although, for the most part they have proven to be meaningless anyways.

We should mind our own business for awhile. We do not even like our own government so why do people think its ok to force something that is broken, on some other country. We need to fix ourselves first.
