Background: We have an SM who is coming off of AD that told us that they have 90 days to report to our unit. Our commander has "encouraged" us to find the regulation as this has come up for a few new soldiers and no one (including me) can seem to find it. Any ideas or is this just another PNN Special or Urban Legend?

If I remember correctly that is in the instructions in the contract they sign. I would have to look at one again, but I vaguely remember it's no earlier than the day after ETS and no later than 90 days.

Got it. Ty SFC (Join to see)! So basically, the SM should be able to show documentation?

CPT (Join to see) I have a few contracts in my inbox and I'll look. But I remember when you are supposed to report is part of the counseling so it should be in one of the 30+ pages they have to sign

If I remember correctly it's right on their separation orders.

Have you looked into regulations dealing with seperation? I would be surprised if a reporting time is not written somewhere and your team is just not finding it. Maybe 635-200? There is a SFC Boyd (that I cannot tag) that will likely chime in and he is a great source of information.

CPT (Join to see) - Lack of finding something that says 90 there should be something that says minimum and max times to report. LTC (Join to see) may have your answer and place to look. Just because you cannot find what the soldier is telling you does not automatically mean they are wrong. I would follow the 90 days until you can find something that says they are wrong because if you don't and later find out you were wrong, well that would be worse than letting them off from drills for 90 days.

MAJ Byron Oyler Yessir. I'm trying to gather all of the facts to help our commander to make the best decision.
