I have been told by a couple of military retired friends that I should not attend the Senior Level review of a disability rating appeal. They have the feeling I might open my mouth and shoot myself in the foot by challenging the colleagues decision of the appeal. Anyone have an oponion on this?

i appealed a decision that went to higher level review. didn't have the option of attending. the higher level review was conducted out of Florida and I'm in Connecticut. the call lasted 7 minutes. they upheld the decision. I would have preferred to be able to attend in person. I think if you do, it will give you more opportunity to prove what was erroneous about the decision

Thanks for your opinion. My best friend (a retired Colonel) advised against attending, as did my son, (a retired Master Sergeant) and my daughter married to a retired LTC.

Of course I would have attended, with a lawyer right next to me.
