11B, that's the fastest promoting MOS. Followed by SF, Psyops, Civil Affairs, Tankers, Scouts 13B, 13F and a few others.
Best promoting support jobs would be 88M, 91B, 25U, 74D, 92F, G, and Y. In all of these MOS's you can reasonably expect to make MSG by 20 years with a bit of work.

35P and 35M are language MOS's so they can have difficult promotions. There is no 35W it's 35M. 68D doesn't promote and 12R is only reserves.

35M and 35P require a TS and a DLAB. The job you can get will be based on what has class seats available, class seats are always the limiting factor.

Your MOS has nothing to do with becoming an officer or which branch you'll receive when you commission.

I looked at this an initially thought, what? 11B's promote faster than SF? I guess that's logical though, there are what 7 total Groups with 4 Battalions each verses 4 Divisions in the 18th Airborne Corp alone, with 3 Brigades each. That's a lot of slots for 11B's.

CPT Lawrence Cable - It's also because there's no Joes in SF/CA/PSYOP, so while everyone makes 6 super fast, it then slows down to 7 and worse for 8, 9 being the pegacorns who started super young and their bodies have lasted long enough to stay in for 9.

CPT Lawrence Cable that's exactly right. I remember my CSM from 1st Group telling me that all his 11Z peers promoted to CSM years before he did. I had the same initial reaction too. But after working at Ranger School and SFG, looking back it was very common to see all the RIs make E7 in 7 years and E8 at their first look.

CW2 (Join to see) - Engineers on the Regular Army side have that problem simply because so much of Army Engineering is on the National Guard and Reserve side of things. Not as many E-7 and E-8 slots.

While the Promotion points are pretty high for SGT/SSG for 68D, it would be a reasonable option for someone aspiring to go from the enlisted to officer side with the anatomy and physiology education you are given throughout AIT (both Phase 1 and 2) as well as each OR (operating room) case you scrub into. Whichever MOS you decide, if your long term goal is to become a Commissioned Officer, then you will need to prioritize your time management with furthering your education to assist you to that next level. Good luck to you with your next endeavor!

That's right........ regardless of "paths" without a 4 year degree any officer plan is dead in the water. Then it all starts over. So whatever enlisted history there is only remains on your ribbon rack. It wont follow your Performance Evaluations or future assignments. I'm not saying it doesn't help, but only as far as life lessons and learning how the army works. On paper, the career starts all over.

So as mentioned, if the final objective is Officer, then focus on making that happen. Which I would recommend is knocking out a degree, and making sure you get E5+, and have solid NCOER's that will influence the officer path board process.

11B’s if infantry is not you thing try looking more into combat arms MOS as they usually have lower promotion points you can check 19D. But honestly infantry would be your best bet.
