Received an official email from the Pentagon HQDA DCS G-6 Mailbox stating that my Army 365 account is now activated.

Problem is that according to the email, it currently can only be accessed via Cisco AnyConnect VPN on Government Furnished Equipment (GFE). Being a "M-Day" status soldier in the National Guard, we usually don't have access to OPTEMPO or RCAS laptops unless specifically requested for a mission or specific purpose.

Does anyone have any knowledge if Army 365 will be available without needing to be connected to a VPN in the future, similar to the current Microsoft Teams CVR? The automated email that I received didn't make that clear if it would be.

At some point civ computer access will be enabled.
At which point every MDAY requiring access will need to be issued a CAC reader or get one from Amazon for $12.

Until then, there is still call in access for meetings, and if MDAYs require access to files, that unit will have to continue, or start using GKO to host those files for MDAYs, also requires a CAC reader.
Which was how it was done for the previous 15 years before we starting using CVR MS Teams a year ago.

We provide 365 access with VPN firefox for safe and fast browsing. All credit cards are processed by secure servers which encrypt your sensitive personal information.apk is very small for your phone and you can install it easily on your phone. Here it's necessary to use any https://veepn.com/vpn-apps/vpn-for-firefox/ for browser or settings instead of internet settings, but if you want to access youtube, Facebook or other big sites then the proxy is the only option available so that you can enjoy your favorite stuff.

Are you surprised that the Regular Army didn't consider the reserve component impact in a decision they made?

You shouldn't be.
