All military branches
We see all this stupidity and race-baiting and violence but what organization stands head and shoulders above almost all others? What organization works side by side in doing their jobs more than just about any other?

If you said, "the military", you would be most likely correct. So what do you say? Is this something that could be implemented and would you be interested? https://youtu.be/-TDfPgd3Kyc

Let's stop hurting one another! Please!

Racial harmony is bullshite without major social, political, and judicial change in the country. Racial harmony is nice feel good endeavor but it won't change a damned thing until we do something tangible to eradicate poverty, institutional and governmental racism and level the economic playing field.

We've spent trillions on the war on poverty to "eradicate poverty". We are still staring at the same poverty rate as when when we started. Poverty has always been with us, it always will. It is unfair to say that poverty is the cause of racial disharmony. Many folks of lesser means are good upstanding citizens.

How are you going to level the playing field? What we need, we already have. Anyone can make it in this country if they put forth the effort, get an education or trade and keep their nose clean. You seem to be advocating for more government intervention which is a large part of the problem now.

Seriously Cpl? I think your white privilege is blinding you. The war on poverty has been and will be a joke because nobody wants to admit the real cause and cost of poverty in the country. Unless you fix the cause of the disease, the patient will not improve. Saying there will always be poverty in the country is a tacit approval of poverty. Anyone can make it in this country? Really? I am financially ruined, suffering from mental health issues, and my wife lost her job of 13 years at the age 63 and we are not alone. Tell me how anybody can make it in this country. Here is a fact, our wages have been stagnant for a good thirty years. The middle class has shrunk. There are more people working two jobs and still living below the poverty level. I don't what island you are living on but I suggest you educate yourself.

Have you ever taught at a Community College? I have. I taught transitional studies. That is a program to try and bring students up to doing college level work because they graduate high school with out basic skills. These same students will not make it in any work environment that requires math skills, reading comprehension and professional writing. I really think you are not seeing the big picture.

I think this is a good start. And the military does set a good example of how we can all work and get along- how all walks of like can put it aside and become one. But that is the thing... we are one. WE are all a part of a brotherhood. WE signed up for our mission. KNOWING our differences would come into play.

I think we also need to look into our ranks first and foremost before we shine the light- to say look at us... because the first think people are going to do, is dig. We know there are gangs in the military. There are members of groups that WE DONT WANT in our military. There is hate crimes and violence and EO issues. We need to figure out how to deal with our internal issues, before we shine the light on it.

But I do agree we are the BEST example out there currently of how to work together!

I don't really see a problem with this country working together. We have always circled the wagons to find a way to combat the social and political ills of this country. However, it takes leadership and a willingness to point out injustice when we see it. As a nation, we have tried but the recent events tell us we have failed. There should not be poverty and hate in this country. Children should not have to go to bed hungry and cold because there is no food or heat in the apartment. People should not have to live in food deserts or get up at 4 am to be to work at 8 am because the jobs have all moved to the suburbs and you have to do at least three bus transfers to get to a job that pays minimum wage. The problems that the military is dealing with will not go away as long as we have social, economic, and racial inequality in this country.

I concur with SMSgt Minister Gerald A. Thomas. Focusing on reconciliation over external aspects which we have no control over such as race, gender, heritage, etc. may help on an individual basis. The primary issue is the nature of our heart which can only be healed when we recognize our need for Christ, repent and turn where He leads us.
