So I'm hearing that for a 68W you can add a course to your Military Education section of your SRB/PPW with your AIT cert called TATS EMT-BASIC RECERT. It is worth 64 points and a lot of medics of the clinic of the base I am on has it added to their records. It has an ATRRS course code of FER.

My issue is that AR 600-8-19 states that courses from Basic/AIT cannot be used for points, but I'm hearing from enlisted, NCOs, and SNCOs saying otherwise. 64 points for something that was done during AIT with the AR backing it up seems way too good to be remotely true yet I'm hearing otherwise. Wanted to bounce the question around and see if I can get anymore insight on it.

SGT, refer to AR 600-8-19; "b. Resident military training. Maximum points: 80 for promotion to SGT; and 90 for promotion to SSG (these point
ceilings are inclusive of the maximum points established above for the overall military education category).
(1) Army Training Requirements and Resources System. Courses formally listed in ATRRS are authorized promotion
points (exceptions follow) at the rate of four promotion points per week (defined as 40 training hours) of military training.
Soldiers receive these points without regard to mandatory training requirements for award of the Soldier’s MOS."
