I recently had my Army Basic Instructor Badge sewn on my hot weather uniform. I couldn't help but notice it looked way too low. When I asked about it they said that it had to be three and a half inches below the service tape. I can't seem to find a regulation on this. Is there any guidance for the hot weather uniforms?

AR 670-1, 4-8, g. “For the IHWCU, drill sergeant and other badges normally worn on the pocket will be worn centered 3-1/2 inches below the name tape and U.S. Army tape.”

Thanks, I'm getting it fixed. The place I took them to had it at 4 inches. It still looks a bit odd.

Is the badge to be centered 3 1/2 inches down or 3 1/2 inches down to top of badge?
