The only career progression school you are entitled to is NCOES when you're eligible. Any other school is an opportunity that your unit may or may not authorize for you, be authorized to send you to, or even be willing to pay for. In short, you are not entitled to any Career progression school or opportunity other than the ones the Army requires you to attend.

Ranger school unless that’s not a career progressing school.

SPC (Join to see) Ranger school is definitely not a career progressing school. Your unit doesn't have to send you to Ranger School and should only put forth their very best Soldiers with the best leadership ability. Ranger School is a leadership school

If you really want Ranger School, apply to 75th Ranger Regiment, pass RASP, then the 75th will send you to Ranger School when you're ready

Career Progression Schools: These are schools that are required in order to progress in your career. They consist of your PME courses. DLC levels, BLC, ALC, SLC.

Ranger School, while it can help your career, it is not a career progression school. That course is not needed to advance higher in rank. Can it help? Sure. Required? No.
