For those of you who went through the process of going from the reserves to active, how long did it take?

You've been playing a game of hurry up and wait on an Olympic level. It's been a month and you're starting to get doubtful.. then all of a sudden...
How long did the process take for you going from reserves to active? And how did it feel when you got approved or rejected?

For me, from start to finish (as in shipping off to Active Duty) the total time was 6 months. The only reason it was that long was because I had gotten into an accident that severely injured me and severely delayed my departure. If it had not been for that, the process would have been 3 months.

SGT (Join to see) Get used to it... that's what the ARMY has perfected... hurry up & wait. I still won't stand in a line... anywhere & I've been out 50+ years.
Best of luck to you going active duty.

It is the most impressive use of wasted time I've ever seen in my life. It never amazes me. Thank you!

SGT (Join to see) - Lol... I agree 100%. It will help if you start working on "patience". Again... GOOD LUCK & enjoy your "down time".

I’ve said since I’ve been in that the 2 weeks of annual training and about a week of most schools for the military could be removed if we just removed all the time wasted sitting around waiting to do things.
“Meet at 0630 for formation to go the range”. At 0730 “ok stay close and be ready to go to the range!” 1030 “ok let’s get on the LMTVs and head to the range!”SGT (Join to see)

If your process looked something like this:
- Sign Conditional Release and send up chain of command w/ memo
- Go back to MEPs to get MOS and shipped out
Then it'll got room to be the same (based off what I've read)
