Is Active Duty taking prior service? I am a 46R (broadcast journalist ) looking at a possible switch if it's even an option. Even switching branches could be an option if they accept me.

This depends on your active duty service time, current rank, and a trip down to MEPS after DD 368 is approved. DD 368 should take 3 to 5 months in my opinion, which is my current average. https://www.facebook.com/PSBusinessRules?mibextid=LQQJ4d

I would contact a recruiter. I know that the AF is looking for prior service in critical fields. Many moons ago I had a buddy that wanted to go NG to AD & had to go through our Congressman to get it approved. This was before 9/11, though.
