Trying to UQR here, but I have a branch ADSO (shame on me). Im still gonna submit a UQR but I’m just wondering what my chances would be. My desired separation date would be 1 year into my ADSO

Any thoughts?

I've written a few UQR memos and counselings and you have to have finished your ADSO just to be considered. In fact, one of the statements on the memo was that you have finished any ADSO. Otherwise, you will need an ADSO waiver. I can't tell you how often those are approved, since I have never seen one, probably about as much as whether or not the Army needs your current grade and branch, but I understand the waiver itself takes 6-9 months for approval.

I would say don't do it all together. Hang tough, adapt, the UQR is not worth it.

From what I have seen, if you really want that resignation, there's a way. Chances are damn good you'll get the boot.

I’ve already got civilian employment and a MBA admission lined up. Anything past company command is terrifying (insert every depressed major) and I’d much rather start my other career than have the army pay me and I wait around to leave.

But for some folks the UQR isn’t the right move

I’ve also done pretty much everything I want (ranger, EIB, HHC XO, airborne, stationed in Europe) so it’s not like I’ve had a bad experience
