I am working to educate my co-workers about the Air Force Sergeants Association (AFSA) but I was wondering if my brother and sister services have something similar? I asked my Navy roommate and she didn’t know if her service had anything like AFSA.

It’s a paid membership of a federally-chartered Veteran Service Organization with over 100,000 members.

AFSA regularly meets with members of Congress and Air Force and government senior leaders to advocate for fair and equitable benefits that matter to today’s Total Force Airmen and their families, and to our Veterans who have served proudly in the past. Pay raises, tuition assistance, healthcare, COLA adjustments, transition programs, care for survivors, and education benefits are just a few things on AFSA’s legislative scope.

2014 MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- Restored full COLA for majority of retirees
- Blocked most of DoD’s requested health care fee increases/changes
- Preserved Commissary funding
- Secured in-state tuition rates (effective July 1, 2015)*
- Secured VA advanced appropriations to protect disability, pension, survivor, and GI Bill programs

Do our brother and sister services have something like this program? If so, what is it and how does it help you?

Are you a part of another professional legislative organization such as Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA)?

The Air Force does not only have AFSA...but we also have the Air Force Association (AFA). Without AFA there would be no Air Force. The Air Force Association supports everyone in the Air Force (officer, enlisted, guard, reserve and civilian partners that support the military). I am a member of both organizations. Both ensure the best for the Air Force and get our voice heard.
