Can someone here help me find the missing pieces that I need for a Cav hat?

I'm helping a friend replace her Cav hat and spurs that were stolen and destroyed by an ex-husband, I've been able to replace her spurs with an original pair of pre-WWI spurs that were worn by a US Cavalryman and I'm going to get a hat at our local Western store and it shaped as it needs to be. But I need to see what the hat cords need to look like with the campaign knots showing to combat tours and what they use for the branch of service, is it the Officer's lapel pin or is it something else? I need an Engineers Castles for her hat. I can't go to a clothing sales store to get any of this and my sources for hat cords all seem to have only one size and her size is under size 7. Can someone here point me in the right direction?

Is she an Officer, enlisted or warrant? That and the branch can determine which cord she can wear. If you have any military surplus store they might have what you are looking for. I don’t know if the cords are size specific. I had mine done at the cowboy store on Hood. The chord can be yellow for enlisted to make it simple. Maybe try online like Ranger Joes.

SPC Miles Blackman it’s supposed to be Crossed Sabers with the regimental designation on it. They are oversized, larger than the branch insignia

I recommend getting the Stetson directly from Stetson, but the braid in available here. A company bought out USCAV’s online store (Galls Inc) and the website is down for maintenance.
When the Stetson arrives it has to be professionally shaped. Other wise she’ll look like Run DMC or the from Breaking Bad in pork pie.

Maybe I'm missing something here,but I thought that you were supposed to wear your branch of service not the units. She was an enlisted NCO attached to a Cav Scout unit, but she was from an Engineer unit. The Cav unit gave her the Order of The Spur and the Hat. She told me that her hat had red cords and an Engineer Castle, that's what I'm going by, sir.. I've got the large Civil War crossed sabers and the 1872 pattern crossed sabers hat pins. The issue hats from stetson are only 5X I just need the right size castle and red cords to put on a 10X hat. Have I missed something?
