It was determined that both my knees had bone on bone contact when i was 48. I hurt both of them on a ski trip while serving active duty in 1991. I did not report this injury for a multitude of reasons, including my commander telling me I could be brought up on charges of damaging government owned equipment.

PO2 (Join to see) - What about the Dr. that diagnosed your Bone on Bone... just get a report from him. Tying it to your skiing accident will need someone to verify that occurance. Good luck!

SGT (Join to see) - The Doctor that diagnosed the bone on bone is my VA Doc. He is not allowed to weigh in on individuals compensation related issues. That's why I asked my initial question. (BTW, thank you for responding!)

PO2 (Join to see) - Ask for a "Community Care referral from him... otherwise get your x-rays... MRI's... & any other of his reports on you & take it to an Ortho guy on the outside. It may payoff.

PO2 (Join to see) You got some real bad advise, always report injuries to medical. It would have been very unlikely that you would be brought up on charges due to injuries that happened while skiing. They would have to show misconduct. The military is pro physical exercise and skiing fits in the definition. Now you will need to find other veterans/sevice members to back up your claim that it is service cpnnected.

the only thing you need which is gonna be hard to do is prove that the injuries led to the bone on bone and not a genetic arthritic condition
