I once interviewed Mikey Weinstein for our blog, http://www.jewsingreen.com, only later to have a falling out when they excoriated a friend, then the lay leader of the Jewish program at Fort Benning. You have to be careful, or you end up like me, being targeted specifically in a HuffPo article written by Chris Rodda. They have a scorched earth policy, not afraid to flay anyone who stands in their way in the court of public opinion, since they know a) it will bring in the donor dollars and b) they have very few actual legal victories to stand on. They even played the "Mikey and the Jewish Welfare Board should be natural allies, because Jews" card, when to me, they are nothing more than shrill attention whores who fail at their stated mission by further isolating troops that feel isolated, and doing them no favors, meanwhile enjoying their turn in the pundit-driven 24 hours news cycle or their special outlet relationship with HuffPo.

There are more than enough true examples of religious-based discrimination. They don't have to pull these out of their hat, but they're clearly more interested in press than true justice.

No I did not miss that. When I went to jump school, LTC Leonard B Scott wrote "Charlie Mike", "Hollywood Scott" became a celebrity, was on TV in BDUs and on the back of the book in uniform. Many Many authors are pictured on or about their books in uniform. I have on by a female chaplain called This Womans Army. She is in uniform on the cover.

I am saying that having it shoved in ones face is offensive. PERSONALLY, I do believe that homosexuality is wrong, I ALSO believe that it is between a person and his or her God. No one has to have my approval for anything. I do not condone it but then I do not have to. I don't particularly care to see public displays of affection by anyone. I could care less what one does in his or her bedroom, but I do not want to watch it in a public place. Nor should I have to.
This applies to the guy and is girlfriend, the two of the same sex or the guy and his German Shepard....

The chaplain did do wrong by appearing in uniform to sell his book. It's an honest mistake, but an ethical violation.
The only people saying court martial are the MRFF. As someone said earlier, those guys go after everyone for the most ridiculous reasons. No one listens to them, no good Ranger commander is going to CM a guy when a simple talk will resolve everything.
