What are some good boot recommations for someone reclassifying to 68W?

I'm looking to reclass to 68W and I've always worn the lighter Nike's. I've never spent much time in the field or did anything rigorous, but now I'm looking at the heavier Salomon Guardians. I'm looking for recommendations. Thanks!

30 years as a medic... I wore standard issue boots and spent my money on socks. Darn Tough T4033 Boot Heavyweight Tactical Sock with Full Cushion. They are guaranteed for life age I have exchanged the six pair I got for deployment twice.

My go to has always been recraftablre Danner’s but not everyone cares to spend that kind of money on boots, which I totally understand. My first pair I bought in 2004, tan rough out leather, for uniform wear. My current pair I bought in 2013, when I retired. Composite toe, gortex lined. I’ve worn them for work and recreation almost everyday since. They’ve been resoled 6 times and they keep paying for themselves, 1SG Scott Heise.

No need to apologize. Like LT Dan said “take care of your feet and get good pairs of socks”. I wear Drake Marino wool socks. Heavy ones in winter. Light ones in warmer weather. LT Dan was right, 1SG Scott Heise

The best boot I have ever used, was the old rough leather issue boot. Soak them in water, then wear them till they dried. They form fitted to your foot, were a bitch to shine, but I never had a blister or sore foot from them, even on 20 + mile strolles in the boonies. Cost $ 8.50 each, and they could be resoled for $1.75. Then came the soft leather boot. Never fit right, and caused lots of blisters!! Don't really know about modern issue boots, but they are too expensive and probably don't wear well. Keep in mind this was all; back in the 60's, as a Marine 0311 ( infantry ).

It really depends on you as an individual. I've known medics that wouldn't touch anything but Danners. Me personally: If it's cold and/or I need amaze-balls ankle support, Rocky's, all day. If I'm in garrison or a garrison like environment (think clinic rotation / sick call / company BS), Oakley's all day (and night).
