I re-enlisted for JBLM. I’m building a flight warrant packet. My PCS date is in May. I planned on turning in my packet May-August but my letters of recommendation have to come from my current unit. I don’t think my new JBLM unit will write LOR that quickly. I want to be able to avoid having to move my family twice in a year. I plan on attending the board for warrant officer school in July and was told I could get a school date 1-2 months later if i’m accepted. I would be PCSING and turning around and PCSING again. I want to be able to delete these orders, extend at hood for a year to get my LOR from my current unit since i’ve been with them for 3 years. Is this valid to delete PCS orders?

You can't extend at Hood, but you can delete the assignment if you requested it through retention. You can be placed on assignment whenever your branch decides to move you. If your branch placed you on assignment, then you will comply with the report date.

You won't PCS twice within a year because that takes the CG HRC approval. Most likely you will simply be given a PCS date that is after your one year mark if you choose to PCS.

So if I move up to JBLM, submit my flight warrant packet right after getting there, and I get accepted, they aren’t going to allow me to go to go to my school date until I hit a year at JBLM? The way that people keep talking after getting accepted into flight school you get a school date within 1-2 months. That means I would have a school date to report to for flight school probably before the end of the year.

You would get a WOCS date within 6 months of acceptance. After WOCS, you would go to WOFT. Time frames varySPC (Join to see)

You can’t delete orders if they are tied to a reenlistment. You re-enlisted for JBLM, the army isn’t going to accommodate your “wants” over their “needs”. SFC (Join to see)

Once you re-upped did you get a bonus? If so, was it based on your present MOS? That maybe a key factor in your PCSing again. You maybe locked into your enlistment for the amount of time you re-enlisted.
