Yes he did.. which is showing direct support, as it would have become law without his signature in just another few days so his signing of that and open carry was a positive and direct show of concurrence and support.

Open carry fine, on a campus, thats a horrible ill gotten idea... drunk college kids with firearms, what could possibly go wrong.

I don't know the facts just know it was to be open carry for those with a CCL. The law within also states if a person even drinks one drink they can no longer have the weapon within reach, I have a CCL.

i get what the law says and those are good things, but I'm thinking from a college students perspective.

@LCpl Mark Lefler one piece you are missing is that it is not banned by law for students to have firearms in the dorm. Some schools have that policy. What this does is for anyone over 21 who has gone through the process and gotten a CHL can carry it on a State School campus with certain restricted areas. Just like off campus. Any private school can still make their own decisions just like off campus and private businesses. I do not know for sure but I do not believe that this bill forces campuses to allow students to keep guns in dorms. Also the majority of students are under 21 and therefore won't be able to carry anyway.
