How can I find an Army Aviator to ask questions about flight school and to possibly give me a letter of recommendation?

I'm currently in a CBRN unit and I don't know any Army Aviators. I am wanting to talk to a pilot more about flight school and one that could possibly give me a letter of recommendation.

Where are you stationed? Is there a flight line there? Aviation unit? If there is, ask your NCO(s) for a break so you can go down there and seek a pilot to speak with. Introduce yourself. Establish rapport. Earn that LOR, don't just go down there and cold call asking for an LOR when they don't really know you.

Ask flight operations if you can go on a flight in a Blackhawk or Chinook. Keep your leadership informed.

In the Navy, we have Detailers that handle all the Billets for Enlisted. You might try to approach the Army equivalent for aviation to reconnoiter who to be interfacing with to answer your questions.
