Been there and done that at Fairchild Afb Spokane Washington. Having 2 small children from my first wife that I had custody of back in the early 70's. I was able to use a fellow SSgt's wife to baby sit my children while I was on duty at the hospital. After duty hours I would retrieve my children fix their dinner bathe them and put them to bed. The next morning I would make their breakfest and deliver them to the baby sitter. It was here that I meet my future wife who was in the Air Force. She saw my needs and gave up her career to take me on with 2 small babies. 48 years later and 2 additional children, 9 grandchilldren, 7 great-grandchildren, and were still going strong. Living on base made it much easier to utilize the services offered.

Aircraft Armament Specialist. With deployments, have you set up extended care for your child? That is priority #1. Nellis is a great place, expensive, but great. You are going to have some long hours, on occasion depending on your unit. Enjoy.

Yes, I have a care plan in place. I am also willing and eager. Currently thinking of doing a "one for one" swap from Creech to Nellis. Rumor has it Nellis is not very welcoming for single parents, although I have never gave that excuse in my career, but I am hoping that if something were to happen out of my control due to my parental status that supervision is more accommodating than what I have been told.
