I'm looking through the lease for a home on Buckley SFB, CO, and the lease has a photo release form that states the company can do whatever they want with my likeness in any medium they so choose. They are absolved from any issues that may arise from it.
Can they legally deny me housing if I refuse to sign that release?

This sounds like one of those policies that isn't actually a policy when the right person asks. The release is in the packet, and it's always been returned and since it's the way it's always been done, it's what people believe must be done....until an inquiry from the CG or a Congressman.
Easiest way to fix this is go straight to the head of housing on your post and ask them directly if it is their policy to refuse housing if you aren't willing to sign a photo release. You'll probably find that's not their policy at all. If it is, email your congressman as well as file an ICE complaint. That's the kind of thing a CG would want to know about and change

Isn't most housing contract, privately owned and the guvment has nothing to do with? I have read that even civilians can live in base housing now.

MAJ Ronnie Reams it's about halfway between that. It's government owned and private contract managed by a few major companies. There contracts are decades long. But they have recently been called in to testify in front of Congress over their terrible conditions.
There are a few bases that have sections open to civilians as well, but not many.

I appreciate it. Sounded off to me, too, but they won't accept the lease without that document signed. Hopefully I can get it removed for future personnel leasing a place.

I agree with SFC Boyd. Go up the chain of leadership at housing to verify if it's an official policy. So many folks in the DOD realm are creatures of habit and they assume that if something is how it has always been it must be because it is a requirement. Housing and CIF included. Both are hot beds of unofficial SOP's and policies that cause issues.

MAJ Ronnie Reams - When I referenced "DOD realm" I wasn't inferring that the housing management office is military ran. Even with it being Military ran it could be brought up to the Chain of Command if something fishy is going on.
