My father passed away last year, he was a Paratrooper and served in West Germany in the 1960's during the Vietnam Era, his grave marker reads (Vietnam) He never served there, it was placed because of the war era my mother was told. I am proud of my Cold War service, he was as well. I placed on the grave marker application (PARATROOPER) Vietnam is wasting space on this marker.
Back in the Day PARATROOPER meant something. Even today in Europe the 82nd and 101 Airborne units were sent first to Poland. This was done because Europe all of Europe respects Paratroopers.
Is there a way to address the grave marker request with national cemetery system?

LTC (Join to see) My condolences on the loss of your father. I would contact whoever is in charge of the cemetery where he is laid to his final rest and see what they say. They should be able to give you some guidance. Good Luck!

LTC (Join to see) Sorry for the loss of your Dad... may he continue to Rest In Peace in the presence of his God. You may want to contact the Funeral Home or whomever oversaw the ordering & placement. A local Veterans Service Officer may be of assistance.
