I am in ait and we had a recruiter come and talk to us about being in the 75th rangers. He said he needed people with our mos. (42 a) so I volunteered as got a packet. My question is what should I do/ what are they looking for? And what should I do to get selected.

Go there, whatever MOS you have is needed. you will work with people that have been specially selected to serve in the regiment. IT will be a tough road to get there with ABN School, RASP, and as an NCO Ranger School, but it is worth it!
I am one of the few intel officers in the army with a Ranger Tab.

Hello. I am a 17 year old senior who is shipping out to boot camp at Fort Benning for 11x August 15. My dream right now is to join the rangers, but sadly I could not get it in my contract because of a medical waiver. I am pretty in shape and got a 273 on my APT, and my recruiters are telling me that even if I did not get an option 40 contract, if I do good on pt tests and am a good soldier in boot camp, there will be guys recruiting people to airborne and RASP at boot camp, is that true?

PVT (Join to see) - When you get to your first duty station, go to the Special Operations Recruiter's Office & talk to them. They will be more than helpful in answering any & all questions you have. Focus on getting thru basic, then worry about trying to get into the 75th.

They want team players but also ones who can lead. Be mentally tough you will have lots of challenges both physically and mentally. They will push you past what you thought was your limits. Rangers lead the way

GO FOR IT.
Our class at AIT was visited by a SF trooper looking for bodies. Had to take a written and physical. Got selected and went to jump school. Didn't make it with follow on physical exam (eyes). But DANG is was GREAT.
You might not make it - most don't.
But it will be a great ride and you will kick yourself later for not trying.

You are just gonna be an Admin Soldier for the 75th... the only thing different is that you will be dealing mostly with Rangers... you will probably be able to wear the 75th scroll on your uniform... You arent going into Ranger selection course or anything like that, but just remember to be squared away and do what you are supposed to...

PFC (Join to see) incorrect... only combat arms soldiers who are going to be in leadership positions have to go through RASP... it is not required... civilians should never gives answer to what they don't know...

Alex Schneider is correct, all soldiers in the 75th are required to pass RASP 1 or RASP 2 regardless of MOS. Everyone from Admin to Infantry has to pass. If your career progresses then you may be forced to go to Ranger School to further your career in the Regiment.

SGT (Join to see) first of I’m not a civilian? Second learn your facts, every mos E-1 through E-5 goes through RASP1 and every E-6 plus and officer goes through RASP 2. The cadre don’t know your MOS just your roster number.

SGT (Join to see) national guard soldiers probably shouldn’t answer active duty questions they don’t know the answer too....

Read and memorize the Ranger Creed, then you'll know what they are looking for!
