I am a 91S that just switched from Active duty to reavers and I’m trying to get my E-6 but they only have a bravo slot. I was told you can just do a 4187. I’m not sure how accurate this info is.

That's some weirdness. There are some MOS's that are qualified to serve as other MOS's. 11Cs are trained as 11B first and can reclass without training. However, the MOS Proponent has to certify that you meet the prerequisites for the MOS first.

Being that 91S was once an ASI for 91B (R4), at that time all Stryker ASI R4 mechanics were trained as 91B first. Depending on what AIT class you graduated, your AIT may have qualified you to be a 91B as well. You will have to reach out to the MOS Proponent who will verify with a memo that you meet the prerequisites for 91B. After that, then you send up the 4187 asking to have that MOS.

Who told you that you only needed a 4187? I mean, part of the problem that I foresee is that if you've never held the 91B MOS, then I don't see how a 4187 could even help you.

My old chief told me. It’s what I was told because 91S and 91B have same AIT requirements except for they add a extra few weeks for 91S. I also have cross trained experience as a 91B

SGT (Join to see) - You may have to have your Reserve unit OPS Officer and NCO send some RFIs to your Branch AND to the 91 series school house.

SGT (Join to see) at one point they had the same requirements. AITs change constantly. It's really a matter of whether the AIT you attended meets the same requirements

No you will need to go back thru AIT.
Now if you came in as a bravo and went thru R4 training and became a 91S that might change things. But if you came in as a 91S you will have to go thru AIT again. But hey Fort Lee is not to bad.
