I am a reservist trying to transition back into active duty, but am having difficulties. Does anyone have advice?

I am a soldier currently serving in the reserves, trying to transition back to active duty. My DA form 368 is complete and signed, and all my stuff squared away. Or so I thought, before my recruiter pulled me out of the hotel the day before I was to head to MEPS and sign a new contract. Apparently I have a recode of 3 on my dd214, and apparently that matters.
Now my recruiter has me trying to prove a negative as there is no justification that he can find for me having the recode. My seperation code is MBK, and there is no narrative in the remarks that would support my recode.
I have a sneaking suspicion it may be connected to a series of behavioral health appointments I had after coming back from Iraq in 2018. My therapist assured me that I was still considered to be an asset to the army at the time.
Is there any good news here? Can I just submit a packet to the army discharge review board and get my recode changed? Should I be doing a congressional?

It has nothing to do with your medical appointments. RE3 means you were ineligible to be retained when you separated. You could have been barred, or flagged, or any other reason you were ineligible to reenlist. The most common reason I've seen is people failing to complete their SSD/DLC because they figure they're getting out and don't need to do it. Then HRC places an 8K code barring you. If you had an old ERB in your separation packet you could confirm what gave you the RE3

That's almost certain to be it then, the SSD1 thing and all. I don't have an old ERB unless it's retrievable online still. What's the path forward on that? I could literally do DLC right now for the reserve, but I'm guessing that wouldn't unflag me.

SPC (Join to see) you weren't flagged, you were barred for SSD. Big difference because one indicates you weren't meeting the standard, the other indicates you just weren't looking to get promoted.
You'll have to ask your recruiter the way forward. Tell them you were never flagged and you had an 8K for not completing DLC1. You're not the first person it's happened to, so I'm sure they know what to do. You'll definitely need to do your DLC no matter what.
