What's life like for a 153A (Rotary Wing Aviator Warrant Officer)?

I'm currently reviewing my reclass options and this MOS sticks out to me as something I am both capable of and would offer great civilian opportunities once I'm out. I know there is a 10 year commitment so I want to be sure before starting the process. What is life like for an aviator? How's the work/family balance? My wife and I will be starting our family soon and neither of us wants our kids to have an absent father constantly deploying. Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I would recommend you head down to the Rotary flight line at Bragg and ask to speak with one of the pilots there to get their direct from the horses mouth input.
