I have this idea called, "Vantage Point: Life As A Military Photographer" event I want to hold on Campus in Va. Beach, and so I would like some input on the types of photography that should be included. Beyond any concerns on OPSEC - any thoughts? Looking to have this in place for a April 18 viewing. I thought it would be great for the University's military community, whom I primarily serve.

Considering there are approximately 10 Installations within the Hampton Roads/Tidewater area. Since you are in VA Bch, my true home, not my home of record. You can start on Ft Story, which is now called Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story. Rich in History, you might find photo's from it's days as a Coastal Artillery base to present day. This location also has two Light Houses located on it, one being the first Lighthouse ever to be commissioned by congress. Next you can visit Oceana NAS, then through VA Bch to Dam Neck and on over to Little Creek itself. Then you have Norfolk NAS, and Norfolk Naval Base, Portsmouth Naval Hospital should be along the way before heading to the Peninsula, where you have Ft Monroe, before it closes, then Langley AFB, Ft Eustis, NWS Yorktown, CGTS Yorktown Cheatham Naval Supply Annex, and I think that about sums up the Military presence in the Hampton Road Tidewater region. Good luck with your en-devour, I look forward to see your pictures

The guidance I give to our PAO guys is to make sure not to take pictures of any badges and if possible to put up a "backdrop" of sorts...kinda like when you see celebrities on the "red carpet" where they always pause in front of the paparazzi.
