Hey all, I'm trying to apply some pressure to my corrupt chain of command to get them to do their jobs. I'm owed disability severance pay to the tune of $85,000. I have the orders, this is not a question of do they really owe me. They owe me. The process normally starts with my readiness NCO, goes to the DC G1, goes to the pay people, and then done. Simple. It's been 9 months and I've been blown off by, in order, My Readiness NCO (SFC), My first sergeant (MSG), My commander (CPT), the DC IG (LTC), the NGB IG, and the congressional liaison at NGB. Technically it was my congressional rep who was blown off by that last.

Oh, reported to CID as well. Article 92.

So, what next?

SGT James Stocking - I don't really know what you mean.
RNCOs don't manage budgets or determine whether funds are available or not, the G3 RM puts that out as it happens, and it gets worse every year.

But if this was intended as some sort of analogy, then yes, your RNCO is lacking for not having the minimum initiative to contact G1 and/or USPFO to ask how he would initiate this pay action after the first time you asked.

SGM (Join to see) - "There's no funds available" is a common saying amongst RNCOs, at least here in VA and DC for the last 12 years. We don't really have training NCOs in most units. RNCOs become the gatekeepers of who gets to go to leadership schools and such. So, they hook themselves up, and hook their friends up, and a select few others. I was never allowed to attend wlc/blc or whatever. "No funds available" was always the reason. It's also a double entendre, because I'm not being paid the money I've rightfully earned.

SGT James Stocking - It's unfortunate that you were willing to accept that as an answer.

FWIW, there are always funds available for NCOs to attend the PME required for the rank they pinned on, all year, every year, In rare cases, a state may run out of school funds for the FY prior to the 4th quarter ending, and if that means NCOs are waiting until the next FY to attend the PME required for their grade, that means the whole state misappropriated too many school seats to ASI courses and PME for those who don't require it.
