What is the general consensus on planning for retirement, I start SLF TAP in a month or so. If I can get HRC to add some AD time for schools when I was a cadet, I can retire this time in 24mo. What things would you share went well, and what went poorly when you were staring the retirement bear down?

Pros/Cons for businesses/passions you pursuit?

I'm in a GS anemic environment, its either work at a FED Prison, the VA or USACE and after being assigned to this particular USACE district, I'm tossing that COA.

It's precisely as useful as the amount of effort you put into it. I actually had my post retirement job locked in before I left the SFL-TAP classroom. The instructors were helping me with my resume and interview prep in real time.

Even now the instructors still periodically reach out to see how I'm doing.

It's hard to argue with real time support like that.
