During our time of service there were many motivational prose/poems about military life. Post the one that motivated you. Here is mine.

PERFECTION
Beyond the eyes of the Lord lies a man,
A man of perfection, pride, and determination.
He cannot be just any man,
He is the few, he is a Warrior.

He is a soft gentleman of great politeness and courtesy.
But to his enemies,
He is the fiercest thing on Earth.
He is the nightmare to the one he despise,
He is an eagle searching for the mice.

He is a Marine.
Hard-driven, well disciplined,
Who is ready to fight anytime, anyplace,
For the duty of their country.

And for this.. he will always be remembered!

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.

Rudyard Kipling is one of my favorite poets. If not for "IF", I would not be the Man I am today. Great Post!

Not necessarily a military poem/prose but Psalm 121 is one for me. I was in Ranger school at a chapel service before going to Mountain phase and I read this in one of those little Bibles all chapels have. It starts off with, "I look to the hills, from where does my help come? It comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth..." That was so applicable for me at that time and I have remembered it ever since.

Outstanding Choice. The Bible has so many motivational verses that seem to speak to your heart when most in need. During the Iraq Invasion in 2003, I read Psalm 91 daily for the spiritual armor that only the Lord could provide.
