What happens if you have not completed AIT after 1+ year after Split OPT BCT?

Hello, I completed BCT for the USAR through the SPLIT OPS program in 2019. I was accepted and attended a Service Academy, but due to personal reasons, I am currently out-processing. I was informed I still had to fulfill my prior contract with the USAR after leaving. I never completed AIT since my orders were changed once I was accepted. What should I expect to happen once I return?

You may want to visit the Retention NCO at your Reserve Center to find this one out. When you report back to the unit you were assigned to prior to attending the Academy, hit them up with this. It could also very well be that when you get back and report back in...you could possibly get orders to AIT for what ever MOS you selected.

That is what I would expect. If it's like an OCS Candidate on a 9D enlistment, he becomes needs of the Army, so unless that initial slot is still open, he might land in a different MOS.

Get ahead of the ball and find out what unit you are assigned to.
All too often unique situation Reserve Soldiers end up on the books and never show up then eventually get separated for non participation.
I suspect your unit will have no problem giving you class scheduling preference, and your best chances of that are reaching out to them, and giving them the best chance they can do that by simply finding an AIT that fits your academic calendar before those courses close.
Keep in mind.......... it's probably true every other kid coming out of high school wants those courses as well.

I would expect they will schedule you for AIT when you arrive. Is there a different outcome you were expecting?

My hope was for my AIT to be scheduled during the summer as if I had chosen to do the College Split Option variation, as I have already been accepted to another college and currently taking classes online for them and will be attending in person spring semester. Although, I know it is the Army and I'm hoping on a whim.

Are you in contact with the unit? That may be possible but I don't know what the training NCO sees.
