Question....
Is there a regulation on who is suppose to sign your Oconus leave form, I looked at AR 600-8-10 and couldn't find anything . Back story... I recently went to Puerto Rico and my leave form was signed by Battalion Commander , but a month later I submitted a leave form for Hawaii for thanksgiving. Now they are saying this leave form needs to be signed by Brigade Commander. So where in black and white says who actually needs to sign Oconus leave?

The regulation you stated covers the minimum, local policies can raise the elevation of who needs to sign what.
If you get pushback, don't ask RP to show you the reg, ask your S1 to show you the signed policy when you show them the reg

I appreciate the answer! Definitely copy and pasted this for my buddy and didn’t think “they” would be all that relevant, given the overall question. However, I most definitely will ask S-1 and hope their incompetency points me in the right direction.

SGT (Join to see) "they" is the most common reason people cite, but it's impossible to pin down where the error is if you can't pinpoint a level/echelon, or person who specifically denied your request. Sometimes it's just one clerk who doesn't know what they're doing, sometimes it's just a bad policy. You have to identify which before you can resolve it.

Also, in the future when you're asking these kind of questions or filing your IG complaint - there's no such thing as "they". "They" could be the E4 at the company training room who stops an action because they heard something once, or "They" could be the S1 NCOIC who actually has the ability to stop a leave form.
