Currently in the process of reclassing and my retention failed me due to the fact I could have been had a class date after I had done my class IV physical. I ended up talking to another e7 that helped me out in less than 10 mins of meeting him at our brigade level and he's not even our battalion retention nco lol.

You're assuming your retention failed you because you didn't get what you wanted and someone else, not retention, told you what you wanted to hear. Your assumption is that you could have already had a class date a while ago. However, most CMF15 MOS's do not accept E4(P) and above without a grade waiver from the MOS Proponent at the school house. That's also assuming your request aligns with Army strengths at the time. But, most importantly, that's assuming there is a 15W class seat open for reclass. Unless the SFC helping you out is Retention they can't tell you what MOS's have class seats allocated to Reclass.

How exactly did this SFC at BDE help you out? Because if he isn't Retention he can't actually process your request, or do anything other than point you to the same information that available to everyone else in the Army.

Ok, it wasn't meant to be a rant. My question was suppose to be what are other requirements for the MOS? I did my own research about everything on my own as no one will help you better than yourself to better educate yourself. The SFC was actually retention but at brigade level.

SGT(P) Joshua Richardson, I'm not sure if you're asking a question or just ranting about an unhelpful/incompetent RNCO.

Assuming the first, the criteria for a 15W are easy to find*, but your governed by the latest IO/OUT Call message from HRC* if you want to change your MOS at reenlistment time. According to the latest message, there is an OUT identified for select Skill Level 1 (SL1) in the 15W, but no INs identified. Additionally, for 88Ms (your MOS according to your profile), there is a SL1 IN identified, but no OUTs.

So, according to the latest IN/OUT message, you're not eligible.

However, there might be some other situation that applies to you that is beyond the message (reenlistment option, special program ongoing for 15Ws or 88Ms, etc) that affects your eligibility. However a recruiter or such would be the ones that would have that information (a quick search of HRC's MILPER messages didn't show anything).

SFC (Join to see), anything to add?

Completely unrelated to your question, but completely related to your question......

15W is not, technically, MI. But you will most likely be operating as part of an MI unit and/or feeding in to MI Intel streams. You may want to brush up on those writing skills before you ship out to school. Because the above writing sample will be completely unacceptable.
