I PCSed to Fort Bliss on December 2022, I am trying to become a recruiter and possibly change my MOS to 79R so that in a few years I can drop a packet for 270A (I have a master's degree in Legal/Law) When is the earliest I can submit my packet. I am trying to progress, but it seems like every time I try, I don't get even close, my branch manager never helps me, and units "lose" my packet, and really I think I am out of options. I'm willing to give this new unit a try but apparently, they have a policy where they won't let me go to military schools until I've been in the Unit for 12 months. Is there anyone in USAREC I can talk to?

Why don't you just try applying directly to the 270A board? You have a master in the field, that should make you a strong candidate for a feeder MOS waiver. Otherwise you're looking at waiting about five years. You have to serve an entire ASI4 tour before you can reclass to 79R, and then that's only if you were a successful recruiter.

Have you tried reaching out to anyone in USAREC directly? Sometimes bypassing the usual channels and talking to someone who specializes in recruiting might help. Hang in there, though! It sounds like you're determined to make things happen, and that's half the battle. Keep pushing forward, and hopefully, you'll find the right person or resource to help you along the way.
