Here is something to keep in mind if using USA Jobs, often times there is an area referred to KSA's (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities), tailor your resume to the KSA's, and make sure you answer any and all questions pertaining to the KSA's. Most likely the HR department will have a computer scan these first looking for key words, if doesn't find the words it is looking for, you get rejected.

Great advice, we've got openings all the time up here at TACOM and the DA civilians already in the department are always helping others get their resume together to get past the inttial screening phase.

I chuckled when I read #4 ("TMI"). I knew a retired officer who put all kinds of stuff on his 20-page resume. He even had a comment that he played clarinet in his high school band. His logic was that it could potentially give a reader a way to connect with him. He said that only happened once (being asked about the clarinet) in all of his interviews.
