How do you feel about increasing our presence in Europe?http://www.militarytimes.com/story/military/careers/army/2015/07/15/army-plans-double-equipment-boost-soldiers-europe/30187329/

Having served in Germany, I'm not sure I agree with this. It's a lot of treasure and my thought is that most of the Europeans don't spend enough on defense because we in the US will do it. If I were a European country, why should I burden my country with costs when the Americans will. I understand we are sending a message to Putin but it seems to me there are better ways to do it. Curious what you think.

Until the rest of NATO abides by their agreement to spend at least 2% of their GDP toward their defense, I see no reason why American taxpayers should bear the burden, only to continue to enable Europe to pour money into their costly social welfare programs. We should begin a well publicized, but incremental withdrawal.

Given the recent provocative actions by the Russians, it seems like ma prudent measure but only if we are willing to us the tanks should the need arise.
