Looking for opinions on the renouncement of the Monroe Doctrine as it affects security of our "back door"

John Kerry has renounced the Monroe Doctrine as of November of last year. In light of the downsizing of the military as well as our inability to adequately secure the borders, are we or are we not setting ourselves up?

The borders have been a longstanding issue well before the downsizing cuts have been in effect. I d like to see the current Administration focus on us and strengthening our selves as a nation rather than playing world apologetic and focus on a namesake healthcare policy.
