What unit, if any, does a soldier belong to when on leave en route to a new assignment?

If a unit award is made covering time period on delay en route leave time, does soldier belong to unit signed out of with DA-1 entry from duty to 45 days ord lv (orders info). Of course, has not signed in to new unit. Maybe Regular Army unassigned?

You are classified as a "transient" when you out-process your last installation and before you sign into your new location. You belong to "Big Army" in this case (HRC manages the transient accounts), but usually will be assigned to a holding or processing unit while enroute.
