Yes, unless you've been barred from the base by the Post Commander. But, you have to do something really dumb to get banned from base

OTH covers a lot of former Soldiers. For a general discharge unless the underlying "offense" would cause a ban (such as workplace or domestic violence), it is unlikely. However, for BCDs and Dishonorable Discharges it is probable the installation policy includes an automatic ban. I seem to remember that the Disciplinary Control Board here at Ft Leavenworth issued a ban letter prior to a prisoner's parole. If your spouse is banned, they will receive a letter with the restrictions and any exceptions such as legal appoints.

If the offense is not violence/drug abuse, would that soldier even be considered for an OTH, MSG?

SPC (Join to see) - It won't matter if the offense is non-violent drug charges. If the Post Commander deems a ban is in order....then a ban will be issued.

SPC (Join to see) Those were examples not an all inclusive list. Each installation will have their own policy. Some other things that could get you banned are shop lifting, destruction of Gov’t property and larceny. Admin law at the JAG could possibly provide you some insight.

Unless they are barred from being on base by the base Commander they should be just fine.
