I just reenlisted for Germany, and was almost immediately given pinpoint projections to the JMSC under 7th Army Training Command. I've done a bit of digging on the 7th ATC page, and some other locations including RP, but information is pretty barren for the JMSC. Just to get an idea of what I would be doing, if at all possible.

I'm a 25B10 E-4P, and from the information I could gather, the JMSC essentially runs hands on, virtual, and simulation training for countries. I have a general idea of what I would be doing in my position, probably just operating in an S-6 shop capacity, however, outside of the limited information I could get, what else does the JMSC do? How is their leadership? How is Grafenwöhr as a duty station, specifically for a barracks soldier?

Also, I've been working on my German since November and I would like to know how feasible it is to become fluent in it while I'm there.

Thank you in advance for any information you can provide.

CPL (Join to see) If you engage the citizens, you will learn German. During my brother’s last visit, he was asked to again engage in a ‘football’ game in Wertheim. He demurred, pleading his age!

That is a good point, I do have several friends in Germany, some of which are stationed, some nationals, but it should help improve my skills a lot. I am still hoping there is some sort of classroom instruction I can participate in to help hone my ability.

CPL (Join to see) when were we station in Germany they had a head start class for new arrivals. There should be a local class you could possibly take as well as using an APP to help you translate and hear the annunciation of the words as well as going shopping on the economy and picking up the flyers to learn what items are called (Aldi grocery store) Good Luck and enjoy the culture and historical events and culture besides Octoberfest

C Marrone - Much appreciated. My plan is to try and spend as much time off the installation as I can. I might look in to the head start class if it is still available. I remember Korea had one when I was there a few years ago. I wouldn't be surprised if Germany is still the same in that regard.

If you try to learn the language you can do it. Most Germans will be happy to help you.
