Were you at Ground Zero?

I'm looking for anybody else who was at Ground Zero/WTC site as a first responder between 9/11/2001 & 10/1/2001. I worked w the Army NY Natl Guard MP units, NYS Naval Militia, NYC OEM and NGA (NIMA at the time).

Yes, I was the Ops Chief for NY Naval Militia. I was based/operating there till mid October.
Our Naval Militia was comprised of Marine and Navy Reservists volunteering for duty. The Seabees were a valuable asset to the City departments. 3o members from one Reserve unit, from Albany, set up in Battery Park and did security duty around the WTC site.
The history of that eventful attack has hundreds of stories from the volunteer responders.

thanks Gunny. any chance you remember the major's name? I keep thinking Bealcher? I only remember him and a BG who was pissed because I was there before his team and working w Army NG MP units from upstate. I rounded up about 7 other Marines on first few days but they left after first week. I was crashing at Javits Ctr w FEMA teams

Belcher sounds like a familiar name.
Glenn Sadowski brought about 30 of his Marines, from F/2/25, and pitched tents in Battery Park..

Thanks Gunny. I remember the Marines from Fox coming. That's when I started working with the Command Ctr for ANG (their LT was a former Marine and a NYPD officer so he snatched me up after realizing I had exp in Crisis Action Teams). SCPO Glen Gosnell provided me a POC to help get VA to reconsider my lung damage as "line of duty" injury. S/F and thank you! Maze

I was there. Out of a Guard Unit from Troy, NY right outside of Albany. We provided security.
