A second Soldier has a motorcycle that otherwise looks okay externally, but is blowing blue smoke. Is this normal? Should it pass? The motorcycle in question is a 1975 Yamaha RD 350

CW3 Kevin Storm, if I remember right the RDs were 2 stroke so It would be normal for the bike. I woild recommend the SM switch to the modern ashless 2 cycle oil. It will cut down on both fouling and smoke.

Top you are also two for two, but the other way, The RD 350 was a street legal two stroke, which is still out there terrorizing roads. I see a few in my area from time to time.
The Bad ass of bad asses of the two strokes was the Suzuki Water Buffalo a water cooled 2 stroke 800cc. Was very popular in drag racing for a while, very rare to see now a days

You'd be right if it wasn't a gas/oil mix bike, AKA two cycle.

Maj Richard "Ernie" Rowlette - Well, looks like I need to do a little more research. Good news is I learned something.
